Walking the Cup Illustration The illustration below shows the sequence of torch movements while walking the cup. The lower part of the illustration has the torch locations spread out for clarity. The picture shows the various positions for one "CYCLE".
1) From a starting point as shown in 5, the cup/torch is rolled to cause the edge of the cup to travel along the line shown. 2) The angle of the torch is changed to an angle that would cause the torch to travel along the path of the next line. 3) and 4) The cup/torch is rolled in the other direction to cause the edge of the cup to travel along the line shown. 5) Do it again!
