GTAW Aluminum Welding Technique

This very crude animation shows the technique I use for GTAW welding of aluminum. This minimizes the "balling up" of the filler metal during welding. The electrode angle is about 15 degrees in the direction of travel. The filler metal is about 90 degrees to the tungsten. This animation is a little crude and doesn't show as much as you would see watching in real person. My welding skills, though not much are a great deal better than my 3d CAD skills but maybe this will help. The animation at the bottom may show this better.
