AWS D1.1 Testing
AWS D1.1 Allows for welder testing to be performed by outside sources. If you are performing AWS D1.1 work and need assistance with welder testing, I can help. Let me throw out a few facts about AWS D1.1.
- If you are performing welds per D1.1, then just having a qualified welder who has been tested is only one part of code compliance.You nay need a WPS.
- You cannot test a welder without having a WPS for the test.
- The joint design for the welder qualification test details is prequalified...but you still need a WPS.
- You do NOT have to be an AWS CWI to test welders or write a WPS.
I can provide a WPS for testing for SMAW, GMAW (Except Short Circuit), and FCAW.
I can perform the testing at my location or yours. At my location, I can test up to two welders at a time.
